Project Nexus

This project, working with colleagues at UC Merced, the Turlock Irriagation District and the team at Solar Aquagrid, aims to try and quantify the water and energy savings of a pilot project covering several canals in the Central Valley with solar panels.  We are part of a team that seeks to develop methods to better quantify the current evaporation and water quality at control sites in the lead up to instrumentation and modeling of the "under canopy" evaporation regime after the panels are installed.  This project involes monitoring and modeling and and eventual scale up to estimate state wide impacts in terms of water savings and energy production were the project to be expanded state wide.
